Originally intended for fitters and tradespeople who are temporarily working on a project, the user base of fitter rooms has expanded significantly:
- Tradespeople and fitters: the classic target group, usually at a work location for several weeks to months.

- Business travelers: use fitter rooms for shorter stays for meetings or projects, mostly because of the price advantage compared to hotels.
- Private individuals and families: for example as a transitional solution during a move or for an uncomplicated short stay with cooking facilities.
- Tourists: especially in regions where hotels are fully booked or significantly more expensive.
Do I have to be a tradesperson to book a fitter’s room?
No. "Monteurzimmer" describes a type of accommodation and price range, not an access requirement. You neither have to work in a trade nor provide a professional reason for your stay in order to book a room.
What do I need to book a fitter’s room?
- A valid ID: Hosts are legally required to record the identity of their guests (registration requirement/guest registration form), regardless of the reason for booking.
- Legal age: As with most rental agreements, a room can only be booked independently by a person of legal age.
